Security is built as a single system, because each measure is worth only as much as the ones around it. At Security Defence we design and apply protection frameworks for people, facilities and critical infrastructure: vulnerability assessment, smart drones and tele-surveillance, technical countermeasures (TSCM), close protection, event security, a monitoring centre and staff training.

Every project starts with the study: what is being protected, who could threaten it and from where, and where the gaps are today. From that follows which measures go in and in what order. Because a study without measures stays in the drawer, and a system no one is watching records the incident after it has happened.

Most organisations know what they have. Cameras, an alarm, guards, a plan in a drawer somewhere. Fewer know where the gaps are, because a gap does not show until it matters.

Ten points, measured one by one, from the perimeter and entry control to backup power and outside contractors. At the end you see which ones you cover and which you do not. About three minutes, with no details to leave behind.

PROMETHEUS is the surveillance platform of Security Defence. It takes image and sound from cameras, thermal cameras, microphones and drones, and runs them through artificial intelligence algorithms that recognise what is happening on site. When something calls for a human decision, it reaches the operator at the monitoring centre as an alert, together with the frame and the location.

The algorithms are switched on according to your needs. From video they detect zone crossing, abandoned objects, thermal hotspots and crowd build-up, and they read number plates. From audio they detect breaking glass, screams and sudden rises in volume. Anything recognised as an animal or a shadow is logged without alerting the operator. If a camera loses its network connection, it keeps recording locally and the fault reaches the operator as an incident.

The sources are cross-checked against one another. A sound turns the camera towards the point it came from. A second camera confirms what the first one saw. A thermal hotspot is compared with the fire detection reading, and an out-of-hours entry with the access control data. When someone tries to get in, the system can speak to them, describing their appearance, so they know they are being watched.

You can open any camera live, from any device, and go back through the recordings whenever needed. You can manage several locations together, without being tied to a particular equipment manufacturer. We develop the platform ourselves and adapt it to each installation.
