Louvre: Mona Lisa attacked with a cream tart – Attacker’s excuse was “the destruction of the Earth”

It was a cream tart and not… a cake that a man, disguised as a woman, threw at the Mona Lisa on Sunday afternoon at the Louvre Museum.
Leonardo da Vinci’s masterpiece was not damaged, as it is protected by safety measures and encased in a bulletproof glass display.
The Louvre Museum did not comment on the incident. Photos shared on social media show the glass case smeared with cream.
Why did he do it?
A Twitter user who witnessed the incident explained that the attacker was a man wearing a wig, who stood up from a wheelchair to hit the glass case and then throw the dessert.
The attacker declared:
“There are people destroying the Earth… All artists, think of the Earth. That’s why I did this. Think of the planet,” said the man, dressed in white and wearing a wig.
