Louvre: Mona Lisa attacked with a cream tart \u2013 Attacker\u2019s excuse was \u201cthe destruction of the Earth\u201d<\/p>\n

It was a cream tart and not\u2026 a cake that a man, disguised as a woman, threw at the Mona Lisa on Sunday afternoon at the Louvre Museum.<\/p>\n

Leonardo da Vinci\u2019s masterpiece was not damaged, as it is protected by safety measures and encased in a bulletproof glass display.
The Louvre Museum did not comment on the incident. Photos shared on social media show the glass case smeared with cream.<\/p>\n

Why did he do it?<\/strong><\/p>\n

A Twitter user who witnessed the incident explained that the attacker was a man wearing a wig, who stood up from a wheelchair to hit the glass case and then throw the dessert.<\/p>\n

The attacker declared:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThere are people destroying the Earth\u2026 All artists, think of the Earth. That\u2019s why I did this. Think of the planet,\u201d said the man, dressed in white and wearing a wig.<\/p>\n
